We know we’re not perfect but hey who is? At Havilah we do the best we can by being very mindful of the impact we in the fashion industry have on our precious planet. Here at Havilah we are always working on ways to become a more sustainable, transparent and circular economy.

A popular ethos that many brands strive to do and we are thrilled! Its always been apart of our mindset and something we always strive to do better, we hope to instil this into our ever growing community through educating and sharing our design and production journey.

We’re thrilled to have partnered with Rare Disorders New Zealand and will be donating $5 per garment sold on our online store to help them raise funds for their ongoing work.

People are a big part of why we can do what we do and we’re so thankful to everyone involved in Havilah and care about their health and welfare which is why we believe in fair pay, workers rights and safe working conditions for all. Our Machinists sew from their homes and get paid a living wage, the fabric mills that we work with are paid fair wages and as well as being family owned they are accredited as safe and sustainable mills.

As a small business we are constantly working on ways to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible and are working on calculating our emissions and  Offsetting them.We also plant one tree per every purchase on our site and are grateful to be doing so through One Tree Planted. We’re actively working on the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 - Responsible Consumption & Production.

We use small certified mills in India and Turkey for our Organic Cotton’s. Along with bigger accredited mills for our Recycled Polyesters, Repreve and Thread International which are all certified and accredited companies making a good impact on our planet. The rest we source from local wholesalers that source fabrics from designers who have surplus fabric that would otherwise be disposed of in our landfills.

Minimising our production waste at the design stage, by creating minimal to Zero Waste garments with all scraps kept for future projects.

As we love our made to order service as it's customary and lovely getting to know our clients and making sure that the garments can be altered to your needs. We try and limit the amount of garments put into production to reduce waste and unnecessary fabric usage, when we do put garments into production we have them made into limited runs of 10.
